Seagull gives hope through advocacy and a variety of educational, social, vocational and residential programs. These programs are designed to encourage self-reliance, achievement and economic independence.

Sertoma Centre, Inc., is a nationally accredited, not-for-profit agency that provides services to more than 650 individuals with developmental, physical and emotional disabilities, and/or mental illness. These services include vocational evaluation, developmental training, community-based assessments, senior programming, work adjustment training, residential services, janitorial skill training, foster care, job placement services, supported employment, specialized services, school transition services, psychosocial rehabilitation,autism services, and a sheltered workshop program.

For almost thirteen years, Dave Baskin has been the friendly and helpful voice of the National Rifle Association the the nation'l large disabled community. He leaves a legacy of successful adaptive programs and technological advancements for future generations to build upon.

ABSF was founded in 1971 and is a non-profit tax exempt (501-C3) national organization chartered in the State of Illinois. The purpose of ABSF is to provide an educational skiing program that is open to any blind or visually impaired person in the hope of providing both physical and psychological therapeutic value.

Ski for Light, Inc. is an all-volunteer, non-profit, organization founded in 1975. The mission of the organization is to teach blind, visually- and mobility-impaired adults how to cross-country ski, in an atmosphere that encourages participants to realize that the only true limitations that they face because of their disability are the limitations that they place on themselves.

Wheelchair softball was born 30 years ago in the Midwest by a few individuals with spinal cord injuries and lower extremity impairments, who still wanted to enjoy America's greatest pastime. These individuals needed to develop a way of playing without the full use of their legs that would allow easy maneuverability in a wheelchair and keep the fast pace of softball.

Solutions at Santa Barbara is dedicated to help each client to achieve the highest level of functional independence possible. Our goals always involve returning to home, school, work and meaningful, productive activity. We encourage each client to develop original “solutions” to the problems they now face. Designed for individuals who are capable of benefitting from an active, “hands on” rehabilitative approach, Solutions at Santa Barbara offers highly personalized, comprehensive programs to meet the needs of individuals with traumatic brain injury, stroke, tumors, aneurysm, post concussive syndrome, Spinal Cord Injury, or other neurological disorders.

The mission of SEASPAR is to provide recreation programs and services for residents with disabilities. Our vision is to enhance the quality of life for all SEASPAR residents with disabilities by providing excellence in recreation through programs and services.

SSSRA is a therapeutic recreation program that is an extension of eight park districts and three recreation and parks departments. It is organized to provide individuals with disabilities or special needs, the opportunity to be involved in year-round recreation.

SWSRA programs are designed to increase independence and enhance the quality of life for each individual. A wide variety of programs are available for individuals from early childhood through adulthood.

"Special Kids" was created especially for you. Lisa says, she not only wants to teach the kids to dance she wants to make them feel special and more confident about themselves. That's something that will help them throughout their lives. We offer classes for Tae Kwon Do Class (age 4 & up), Ballet & Tap Combination (age 4 - 7), Ballet & Tap Combination (age 8 & up), Advanced Class (by invitation), Hip Hop & Tap Class (age 8 & up), and Drama & Vocal Class. ART CLASSES ARE NOW FORMING!!!

The focus in Special Olympics is on what athletes can do. Like everyone, Special Olympics athletes like to win, but more importantly - they strive to do their best. The sportsmanship that is demonstrated on the court, in the field, or on the track serves as an inspiration to all.

Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) is a statewide organization providing persons with cognitive disabilities year-round sports training and competition. Individuals who are at least eight years old and are identified as having a cognitive disability are eligible for participation.

The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County was formed in 1976 as a cooperative effort of Member Agencies with the purpose to provide year round community based recreation services to individuals with disabilities and their families.

A variety of programs and events are currently being offered, with more anticipated in the near future. Currently, Lindenhurst Park District is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary. Since 1998 we've been one of the fastest growing Park and Recreation Agencies in Lake County.
