The Kennedy Center is a not-for-profit rehabilitation agency supporting more than 1,500 children and adults with disabilities with vocational, residential, educational, therapeutic, social and recreational programs throughout the State of Connecticut.

Providing comprehensive psychological and creative arts therapies for persons with special needs and their families. We provide diagnostic evaluations, educational testing, family therapy, individual psychotherapies, play therapy, music therapy, art therapy, and small group services. Our licensed providers included psychologists, mental health counselors, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists.

It is our goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment, individualized to meet the needs of each client. Music therapy sessions facilitate self-expression and increase confidence in social interactions. Music therapy assists in improving difficulties in language development, perceptive and cognitive processing, gross and fine motor skills and maladaptive behavioral patterns. All sessions are client centered, individualized by improvisational music accompaniment. Using a team approach, therapists conduct sessions that have uninterrupted musical structure and minimal intrusive verbal and physical prompting.

Matheny Medical and Educational Center is a special hospital and educational facility for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities.
