Scott C. Suzuki, J.D., M.P.H., is an estate planning attorney who concentrates his practice in the areas of elder law and special needs planning. These practice areas involve complex and holistic long-range planning for families and individuals with special health care concerns and/or diminished (or diminishing) capacity. Common services range from traditional estate planning work (e.g. wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney and health care directives) to highly technical planning relating to public benefits (e.g. Medicaid and Social Security), long-term care, elder abuse, guardianships, conservatorships and a variety of Special Needs Trusts. Mr. Suzuki is an assistant instructor for the Elder Law course at the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, where he also works as an attorney for the University of Hawaii Elder Law Program. Mr. Suzuki is Hawaii’s only member by invitation of the Special Needs Alliance, a national, not for profit organization of attorneys dedicated to the practice of disability and public benefits law.
