The National Ability Center empowers individuals of all abilities by building self-esteem, confidence and lifetime skills through sport, recreation and educational programs.The National Ability Center offers a wide variety of programs both seasonally and year-round. Activities include alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, horseback riding, hippotherapy, indoor rock climbing, swimming, archery, sled hockey, cycling, water-skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and challenge course activities.

RHI opened its doors in January 1992 as one of the largest freestanding rehabilitation hospitals in the Midwest. Our continuum provides inpatient acute services, and outpatient and vocational rehabilitation services for adults with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, strokes, amputations, orthopedic conditions, neuromuscular diseases, burns and related disabilities. RHI is a community collaboration between Clarian Health and St. Vincent Health.

The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association has been providing fun, recreational opportunities to individuals of all ages with disabilities since 1976.WDSRA offers four seasons of programs, special events and trips including Special Olympic programs and adapted sports programs each year.Programs are offered for all ages, from preschoolers to seniors, and are designed with a close staff to participant ratio. Western DuPage Special Recreation Association serves more than 8,000 people of all ages with disabilities in over 1,000 annual recreation programs, special events, and trips. This nationally acclaimed, not-for-profit organization is a cooperative extension of the Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Roselle, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield Park Districts. A nonprofit organization operated by volunteers offers individuals and families the opportunity to enjoy a wheelchair-friendly get-away. Set on 18 acres of woodland and prairie Welcome HOME offers overnight guests the use of one wing of an award winning wheelchair accessible design home. Guest wing includes 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, screened porch, kitchenette, family room with gas fire place, board games, library with print and talking books, large TV with cable. SNACK, the Special Needs Activity Center for Kids, is the creation of New York mom and SNACK’s Executive Director, Jackie Ceonzo. After being unable to find a fulfilling program for her son, Joey, whose disabilities fall on the autism spectrum, she worked with a team of professionals to create a place for special needs children with challenging behaviors to socialize and enjoy recreational activities while learning practical skills in a collaborative, fun and welcoming environment. The mission of SNACK, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, is to fill a void in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other similar developmental and behavioral disabilities by providing after-school and weekend recreational programs designed and staffed to address their needs. Our mission is accomplished by establishing activity centers that offer a variety of group and individual activities to provide these children with the help they need to thrive – the opportunity to make friends, improve skill levels, build confidence, participate in activities that typical kids do everyday and have some fun. SNACK programs, geared toward children ages 3-18 with special needs, are designed and staffed to address challenging behavioral issues, increase skill levels and promote improved social interaction.A variety of group and individual activities are offered including: art, music, movement, yoga, game time, soccer, sports and swimming, that run across six days of the week, in three locations. Vacation time programs provide a continuum of services that spans 42 weeks per year.
